Teenage World War 1 nurses

These British teenage girls in World War 1 nurses’ outfits were rehearsing for a play that was set in WW1, and although they are smiling for the photo they are aware that nursing was a pretty traumatic experience in that terrible war.

Obviously, World War 1 was a traumatic experience for an entire generation, not just for nurses. But it was particularly traumatic for nurses because of the terrible wounds they had to treat.
These teen girls could be descended from those original WW1 nurses, many of whom were also teenage girls.
